The Kids Club Members and their parents must commit to the kids earning the funds to contribute minimally to each of our projects. For Operation Santa the Kids Club Members volunteer their time to shop for and prepare gifts and then help to run the entire carnival. Our goal is to teach a new generation the importance of giving to others.
This year the Bridges Kids Club hosted more than 300 active duty & reserver service members and their families from every branch of service at the annual Operation Santa Carnival. More than 100 volunteers from the club participated to purchase gifts and run carnvial games. There was a special visit from a Princess, a performance by the Dance by Cami Showdolls and of course a visit from the big man himself – Santa!

Kid’s Club Members will shop for one gift for their paired military child (not more then $25) and bring it to the party. They will wrap the gift and be able to hand it to the child when they visit Santa during the party. This will be a unique opportunity for Kids Club Members to actually get to interact with and see the reactions of the kids they are helping.
Kid’s Club Members will help run the games and crafts during the party – lots of carnival type games, face painting, spin art, sand art, cookie decorating, hot chocolate bar, and lots more.
Mission Objectives: Many of you received the email below through our adult email chain, but we are pairing this particular project with the Kid’s Club and asking all Kid’s Club Members to help us show some support for this service member.
We frequently get asked to help many worthy local causes and people. Occasionally there are requests that are so moving that we feel the need to share the cause with our friends and family for their consideration and support. This Memorial Day weekend as we remember the sacrifices and service of our brave Veteran men and woman as well as those currently serving, there is a local service member in need of our support.
Yesterday we received a note from our good friend in the 911th that runs Heroes Supporting Heroes (HSH) – a local not for profit organization of volunteers both civilian and military that support local families of service members deployed and Veterans in need. He reached out to us in the hope that we could help a young single mother who is an Airman at the 911th. The note said the following: “We have a young single mother, who is an Airman…. in the ASTS squadron, who has been going through some difficult times financially. She has a young child at home with her, and after missing some payments her electricity has been shut off. She worked something out with the electric company and skipped her car payment to pay her electricity just to get turned on so she can have the essentials.”
We were able to get her electricity turned back on and with the help of other supporters of Heroes Supporting Heroes, give her enough money to make her car payment. This was her note back: “I can’t stop crying right now! Me personally it’s so hard to ask for help from others. I’ve been doing everything by myself for so long. I never expected to get to this point. It was just like how many things can go wrong at once in one month! I’m so grateful, I never expected this! Thank you guys so much! I can’t thank you guys enough! This is a huge
While it is sad that any member of our military could be in this situation given all that they give to our country, we are particularly moved that this is a young, single mother. She is very proud and it took a lot of convincing to get her to tell us what she needs and how we could help. Her daughter will be 1 year old this June 23rd.
We are organizing a donation drive to help this young Airman
and show her that there are many people that value her service and are happy and proud to support her.
Thank you so much for any help you can provide.

Sending Thank You Cards To Veterans Recovering At Carrick Brain Center.
Mission Objectives: One of our clients who works at the Carrick Brain Center with recovering Veterans is making a book of thank you notes from children around the country to our injured Veterans and she has asked for our Kids Club to help. Our objective is to send as many cards are we can to fill up the book that will be in the Veterans relaxation room at their treatment center.
Maybe draw or color a picture and write a note or a letter thanking them for all of the things they have done for our country. We want them to know that we appreciate their sacrifices to protect our freedoms and our country. If you decide to send a letter or a picture, please have mom or dad take a photo of you with your letter and email it to email@example.com so we can display your work proudly on our Kids Club web page.
Mission Goal: To send as many cards, letters and photos to the Carrick Brain Center.
Operation Santa 2013 was a resounding success! Thank you to all Bridges Kids Club members and 3 Rivers Wealth Management Group/3 Rivers Tax & Business Services clients, friends and business partners that participated!
Together, 42 children/teens (some as far away as Philadelphia!) shopped for 32 local children in need to help Santa fulfill their wish lists. We had a blast at the group shopping Saturday night at the mall and Sunday afternoon at Toys’R’Us. We shopped for and wrapped 347 gifts using A LOT of tape and paper :0)! Way to go Kids Club! Gifts were all packed up and delivered to the Hilbert’s House where Santa will pick them up for delivery – 2 gifts each to the Children’s Christmas Party Friday morning December 20th and the rest on Christmas morning.
In addition to all of the new toys & clothing, we collected over 50 large bags filled with gently used clothing, books, toys, shoes and accessories. These were sorted at the wrapping party and delivered to Family Services of Western Pennsylvania for distribution to families in need this Holiday Season.
We wanted to share a few comments that Kid’s Club Parents reported back to us from the night of Operation Santa:
“Taz just told me that he is going to bed with a happy heart! Way to make a project so worthwhile for not only the kids that needed the gifts
but for the kids that did the gifting.”
“Ava enjoyed herself and cannot wait to do it next year!”
“It’s nice to be reminded to teach our kids the true Reason for the Season!”
“Terrific job, and we all had a blast! Thanks so much for the opportunity for the kids to do this!”
“Mom, I really hope that we helped out Santa today and that he gets the presents there on
time. It makes my heart feel good to help other kids.
Mission Accomplished Packets with Thank you notes, photos and a feedback form for kids to complete will be mailed in the next 2 weeks. Hoping to have our Facebook page up and running before the end of the year as well.
THANK YOU to everyone that participated to make this project such a huge success. We are SO PROUD of all of our Bridges Kids Club members! Merry Christmas!
Thank you to all of our Bridges Kids Club members who came out in support of Operation Santa 2013. Our mission was a HUGE success! Not only did we provide a very Merry Christmas for 34 local children, but we were able to provide gently used clothing and toys for many more families. Kids Club members did a great job shopping for their Santa Lists. We were able to deliver 2 of the gifts to each child at their school Christmas Party and we can tell you there were many, many ear to ear smiles and lots of yells of excitement when they opened their gifts. We received thank you notes from all of the children, thanking everyone for the terrific gifts they received and how it made their Christmas special. WAY TO GO KIDS CLUB – OUR FIRST MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
